Mr. Garza has been Executive Director for over 28 years. During his tenure Southside has grown, and now has a retirement center. The center provides affordable housing for seniors, and services such as a free meal once a week, van service to doctors, and grocery stores. He was also instrument in building over 267 more units of affordable housing. He oversees the Transitional Shelter, affordable housing endeavors, Thrift Store and operation for Southside Community Center, and the Youth Service Program which provides after school activities for young students who need help.
Andrew is a current student studying business at Texas State University. Andy works to keep Southside Community Centers finances looking sharp and helps contribute towards the overall success of all of our programs.
Deborah oversees Sunrise Village as well as Autumn Springs in Smithville. Deborah works to keep both communities maintained and running smoothly.
Eileen Hernandez is responsible for accepting and reviewing all applications for specific assistance before submitting them to our Executive Director. She is also responsible for answering all calls and directing them to the correct staff member to ensure that the greatest customer service is provided. When you call Southside, ask for Eileen and she will make sure you are taken care of.
He works to keep the shelter running efficiently. He is passionate about helping those in need. Please contact him if you have any questions.
Jose preps and prepares hot meals daily. He also coordinates and oversees volunteers throughout the week.
