Daily Meal

We serve a healthy dinner every night at 4 p.m. to anyone needing a meal. No one under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be allowed on the premises, and we do not hesitate to ban anybody showing signs of extreme aggression or violent tendencies. Only service animals will be given admission and you must have the proper documentation. People using any Southside facilities are required to obey the rules posted, follow the requests of staff, and be nice to each other.

Laundry and shower facilities are also available. You may schedule a time to do your laundry with the front desk. There is a one load per day limit for our washers and dryers. Sign in when you arrive to use both facilities. Laundry: 1 -3 p.m. Monday-Friday. Showers: 3-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, 3 - 4 p.m. on weekends. Clothing vouchers: 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Breakfast 8 - 9 a.m. Monday-Friday.

Volunteer for Dinner

Our cook is always looking for a helping hand in serving, cooking, and socializing with the neighbors at the center. Volunteers will be assigned work upon arrival. You can set up a time to come and work via email or phone. If you're interested in catering food, you may cook a meal, side dish, or dessert at home and bring it to Southside. If you do this, please contact the front desk so we can plan ahead for the meal. Be prepared to cook for 50-75 people.  Volunteers are let in the gym starting at 3 p.m. (or earlier with prior arrangement) to prepare before neighbors arrive at 4.  Contact our office for more information. Southside is blessed with generous and dedicated volunteers!

Hays County Food Bank

Southside Community Center is a Partner Agency with the Hays County Food Bank. In addition to the free meals and food pantry items available at Southside, we encourage people who need help with food to connect with Hays County Food Bank.
